Springing into Spring Projects... Great Ideas for Easy Home Updates

In 10 days it will be officially official… Spring will be here! We have already made the switch in time, springing the clocks forward one hour. It is almost time to make the final leap. Although the big snow we experienced this week in Garrett County makes it easy to forget that warmer, sunny days are in our near future. Of course, as is typical here in the mountains, we are definitely not out of the woods yet. There is no doubt that we will see some more snow in March, and maybe even a little in April too. Despite what the snow to sun ratio will be, soon we will all be migrating outside, sprucing up the lawn, and healing the wounds winter left on our gardens!

It is such an exciting time of the year, the opportunity to make things fresh and new is a wonderful feeling. We have a few ideas for some DIY outdoor projects that will not only get you ready to enjoy some fun in the sun, but also to liven up the outside of your home and create a little extra curb appeal. Making improvements to the outside of your home is great for many reasons. In the warmer months many of us spend as much outside as we do inside. If you are selling your home it is just as important for the outdoor area to be in good shape as it is for the rest of the house. Curb Appeal is so important in the housing market, after all, first impressions are everything right? What a buyer sees and thinks when they get out of the car and walk toward your home will likely set the tone for the rest of the showing. So do yourself a favor and impress them off the bat!
Curb Appeal improvements can be as simple as a fresh coat of paint on your front door, or as involved as a new walkway and front stoop. There is such a broad scope of projects to improve your homes outward appearance it can be overwhelming to choose… Luckily there are a lot of brush ups that can be done in only one day.

There is something very fulfilling about Do It Yourself projects. Not only do you have something you can be proud of when all is finished, but you can take pride in your accomplishments, having done it on your own. (Not to mention the money you will save!) The home is one place where DIY can reign supreme, especially when your home is on the sales or rental market. Small features and upgrades are what will bring your home from ordinary to extraordinary in no time at all.
