Don't Miss the Festival of the Trees This Weekend in Garrett County!

It’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving is just a few days away and with it marks the beginning of the festive holiday season!  As Deep Creek Lake Real Estate agents here at Coldwell Banker Deep Creek Realty, this is always one of our favorite times of the year.  It seems the Deep Creek Lake community grows a little closer as we find ourselves taking part in local events with neighbors and joining together in celebrating the holidays!

If you’re visiting friends or family this coming Thanksgiving weekend, or you live on Deep Creek Lake all year long and are looking for a way to kick off the holidays; you won’t want to miss this weekend’s Festival of Trees; one of Garrett County’s favorite celebrations!  Take a look!

Festival of Trees
Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall
Hwy 219 in McHenry

Friday, November 23 from 9am-8pm
Saturday, November 24 from 10am-8pm

- The Festival of Trees is a two day event that allows you to stroll through decorated trees, wreaths, centerpieces and other inspiring holiday decorations while experiencing the sites and sounds of Christmas!  Take pictures with Santa, sing at Kris Kringle’s Karaoke, decorate cookies in Santa’s Bakery, play Reindeer games or navigate through Frosty’s Funland.  Elfenheim mall is a children's shopping area, where all gifts cost $1 and is a great way for kids to find the perfect gift for loved ones!

Silent auctions take place on both days where you can bid on your favorite tree, holiday decorations and gifts!  Have breakfast with Santa on Friday or Saturday morning at 9 or 10am ($10) which includes a full pancake breakfast, gift and a photo with Santa! Reservations are encouraged to take part in the breakfast.  All proceeds go to benefit the Garrett County Dove Center. This non-profit is an agency that helps victims of physical abuse to develop self worth and be able to take control of their lives.

This fun filled weekend is the ideal way to get in the holiday spirit, so don’t miss out!  View more information regarding tickets and daily schedules at the Festival of Trees website.

We hope you have an opportunity to take part in this great holiday event!  Whether you live on Deep Creek Lake year round or are just visiting; you’ll appreciate the sense of community and cheer that will fill the air and get you in the holiday mood!

As always, we are here to help in any way we can regarding living or vacationing on Deep Creek Lake!  If you would like more information on the current Deep Creek Lake Real Estate market or are interested in viewing some of the homes currently available on Deep Creek Lake; please feel free to contact us today!
