Enjoy Deep Creek Lake Parks This Weekend!

It’s hard to believe we’ve entered into May and that summer is just around the corner!  While there are many things to do around Deep Creek Lake throughout the year, the warm weather season gives us all more opportunities to be outdoors.  Whether you enjoy soaking in the beautiful scenery, taking part in outdoor adventure or having more activities in which to gather with friends and neighbors; now is a great time to venture to Deep Creek Lake!
As always, our goal here at Coldwell Banker Deep Creek Realty is to provide you with a well rounded view of what life is like on Deep Creek Lake.  We enjoy giving you the latest in home buying and selling tips, as well as real estate news, but as Deep Creek Lake Real Estate agents; we know that the overall lifestyle is what makes a place feel like home!
Interested in getting out this coming weekend around Deep Creek Lake?  Here are just a few highlights of ways to get involved in the Deep Creek Lake community!
Old Time Jam
New Germany Lake House
New Germany State Park
349 Headquarters Lane, Grantsville
Friday, May 4 from 6:30-9:30pm
- You won’t want to miss the Old Time Jams, which are a local favorite!  These informal gatherings are free and open to the public, and give musicians and those watching the opportunity to enjoy traditional folk, bluegrass and other “old-time” Appalachian music.  You’ll feel as though you’ve stepped back in time!  This is a great way to meet neighbors and enjoy great music!  Refreshments and gift items are available to purchase at the Lake House.  For more information, call the Ranger Station at 301.895.5453.
Explore Saint John’s Rock at Garrett Trails, Inc.
Saint John’s Rock
Saturday, May 5 from 9am-Noon
- Experience local trails and their natural beauty this Saturday!  Garrett Trails and Savage River State Forest are partnering up to explore Saint John’s Rock while sprucing up for the summer season.  Help preserve its’ beauty by pruning branches, moving rocks, raking, collecting trash and more!  This is a great way for the whole family to get involved in helping to maintain our stunning parks.  You’ll also discover things you’ve never seen before like ruts in the rocks carved by trail wagon wheels as this was once part of the trail where Washington’s army traveled!
Meet at 9am at the upper parking lot at Saint John’s Rock. Please bring water, insect repellant, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, gloves, and a snack as needed... thanks for considering carpooling! Stay up to date on the event at Garrett Trails Facebook page
We hope you’re able to get involved in either of these great events this weekend!  Our surrounding parks are what make Deep Creek Lake such an ideal location.  Whether you prefer sitting back and listening to music or digging in and getting your hands dirty; there’s something for everyone this weekend!
